Contour started with a simple frustration: the map of the mountain you climbed shouldn’t look like every other poster. The summit that took you all day deserves better than a stock print.

So we build each one from the ground truth. We pull New Zealand’s open elevation data — the same LiDAR and DEM surveys used by surveyors and search-and-rescue — and render the contours and hillshade ourselves, at print resolution. No upscaled screenshots. No generic tiles.

Then we make it yours: your route traced over the terrain, your words in the title block, your coordinates in the margin, in a finish that suits your wall.

A Contour isn’t a picture of a place. It’s the shape of it.
